Version 2026-09-08

Terms & Conditions

These terms are the agreement between you and Uyirmei. They sit alongside our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, and you accept all three when you register. They are written to be read, so please read them.

1.About these terms

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Uyirmei — our website, our mobile applications and everything we offer through them (the "Platform"). The Platform is operated by Uyirmei Technologies Private Limited ("Uyirmei", "we", "us"), with its registered office at M801, Akshaya January Apartments, Thaiyur, Chennai - 603103.

By creating a profile, by accepting these terms during registration, or by otherwise using the Platform, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy and our Community Guidelines form part of these terms. If you do not agree with any of it, please do not use Uyirmei.

We record which version of each document you accepted and when. The version of these terms in force is shown at the top of this page; when we publish a substantively new version, we ask you to accept it again.

2.What Uyirmei is, and what it is not

Uyirmei is a matrimonial service. It exists so that adults who intend to marry can find a life partner, on their own or with their family involved. It is not a dating service, and it must not be used to look for casual, short-term or non-matrimonial relationships.

We are an intermediary within the meaning of the Information Technology Act, 2000. Profiles, interest notes and messages are written by members, not by us. We host them, we moderate them as described in these terms, and we show you profiles based on the preferences you record — we do not vouch for any of it.

We do not promise a match, a reply, an engagement or a marriage. What a membership buys is access to the Platform and to the features of your tier for the term you paid for. Nothing more is promised, and nothing more should be read into it.

3.Who may use Uyirmei

  • You must be of legal marriageable age under Indian law — 21 years for a man and 18 years for a woman — and legally free to marry.
  • You must be unmarried, divorced by a decree that is final, or widowed. If a divorce or annulment is still pending, your profile must say so. Concealing it is a breach of these terms.
  • You must register for yourself, or for a close relative who knows about it and has agreed. If you register for someone else, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and to accept these terms on their behalf.
  • One person, one profile. Duplicate profiles, and profiles sharing a phone number or email address with an existing one, may be removed without notice.
  • You must not use Uyirmei if we have previously removed or suspended your account, unless we have agreed in writing that you may return.
  • Uyirmei is intended for use in India. If you use it from elsewhere, complying with your local law is your responsibility.

We assume every member is here in good faith, intending marriage. A profile created without that intention may be removed, and conduct that amounts to an offence may be reported to the police.

4.Your account

Keep your password to yourself. Everything done from your account is treated as done by you, so tell us immediately if you think someone else has access to it, and change your password.

Your account is personal. It cannot be sold, shared, lent or transferred, and neither can a membership: a plan belongs to the profile that bought it. If you delete your profile, its membership lapses with it. Write to support@uyirmei.in if you need help with any of this.

We may ask you to verify your email address or phone number, and may hold back features until you do.

5.The information you give us

Everything on your profile must be true, current and complete — your name, date of birth, marital status, community, education, occupation, income, family details and anything you say about your health. Other members make decisions about their life on the strength of it.

We may ask for documentary evidence: a government photo identity document, proof of education or employment, or a decree of divorce. If you do not provide it, we may withhold verified status, restrict your profile, or remove it.

Verification is a check, not a guarantee. A verification badge means a document was submitted and reviewed and appeared genuine. It is not a warranty by us about a person, their character, their intentions or their circumstances, and you must not treat it as one. Paid tiers are reviewed sooner, not more leniently.

Photographs must be of the member whose profile they are on, recent, and yours to upload. Photographs of anyone else, of celebrities, of children, or that are indecent will be removed.

6.How you must behave

While using Uyirmei you must not:

  • impersonate anyone, or give false or misleading information about yourself, your family or your circumstances;
  • ask another member for money, a loan, a gift, a fee, bank or card details, UPI or wallet transfers, or an investment of any kind — and you should treat any such request made to you as fraud and report it;
  • harass, threaten, abuse, stalk or intimidate another member, or keep contacting someone who has declined your interest or blocked you;
  • post or send anything obscene, sexually explicit, defamatory, hateful, or intended to demean a person or a community;
  • share another member’s photographs, contact details, messages or family information with anyone else, or publish them anywhere;
  • use the Platform to advertise, recruit, sell, promote a business, or collect members’ details for any purpose of your own;
  • scrape, crawl, harvest or copy the Platform or its content, or use bots, scripts or automation on it;
  • work around a limit rather than through it — bypassing entitlement checks, rate limits, search limits, verification or moderation, or accessing paid features you have not bought;
  • probe, attack or interfere with the Platform’s security, reverse-engineer it, or try to reach another member’s account or any data that is not yours;
  • upload malware, or anything that could damage the Platform or another member’s device;
  • use Uyirmei for anything other than seeking a marriage partner, or for anything unlawful.

7.What you post

What you write and upload stays yours. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store it, display it to other members and to our staff, and make the technical copies and adaptations — resizing a photograph, for instance — needed to run the service, for as long as your profile is on Uyirmei.

You are responsible for having the right to post what you post, and for the consent of anyone else who appears in it.

Text written on the Platform is checked automatically. A check may refuse a message or a note as you send it, or raise a flag afterwards for a moderator to look at. These checks assist our moderators; they are not a judgement about you, and a moderator makes the decision.

We may hide, edit or remove content that breaches these terms, our guidelines or the law, and we may act on a report from another member.

8.Interests, messages and shortlists

An interest is how a conversation starts here. The member who receives it may accept it, decline it, or leave it alone — no one owes you a reply. Messaging opens only when an interest has been accepted.

Basic members may send 5 interests each calendar month and keep up to 25 profiles shortlisted. Interests you receive are never limited, and replying to a message is never restricted by your plan — a member who is written to can always answer.

Declining or blocking ends contact. Do not try to reach someone again through another profile, another member, or outside the Platform.

9.Memberships

Basic membership is free. Gold and Select Concierge are paid, and what each one includes is published on the membership page and enforced by our servers, so what is advertised and what is allowed are the same thing.

Plan1 month3 months1 year
BasicFree, with no term
Gold₹799₹2,157₹7,670
Select Concierge₹2,499₹6,747₹23,990

Charged once for the whole term, in Indian rupees. Prices on this page are the prices the Platform charges; the membership page shows what each plan includes.

We may change what a tier includes as the product changes. A change that reduces something you have already paid for will not be applied to your current term.

10.Prices, payment and taxes

Prices are in Indian rupees and include applicable taxes unless we say otherwise. The amount you owe is calculated on our servers from the published price of the plan and term you chose; a price quoted anywhere else does not create an obligation.

Payment is taken in full, in advance, through our payment provider’s hosted checkout. Card, UPI, netbanking and wallet details are handled by the provider — they do not reach Uyirmei and we do not store them. Keeping your payment credentials and one-time passwords to yourself is your responsibility.

Your membership starts when the provider confirms the payment to us, which is not always the moment your browser returns from checkout. If confirmation is delayed, the plan activates as soon as it arrives. If a payment is later reversed or charged back, the membership it bought may be suspended.

Nothing renews. A term buys a fixed number of days — 1 month is 30 days, 3 months is 90 days, 1 year is 365 days — and when it ends your account returns to Basic. Buying again is a deliberate act, never something that happens to you while you are not looking.

Coupons and referral offers carry their own conditions and expiry dates, apply only to the plans they name, and cannot be exchanged for cash.

11.Refunds

A membership is access for a fixed term, and once it has been activated it is not refundable, except where the law requires otherwise or where one of the cases below applies.

  • A duplicate or failed charge is refunded in full. Tell us within seven days and we will return it to the original payment method, ordinarily within seven to ten working days of approval.
  • If we withdraw a paid feature during your term, or the Platform is unavailable for a prolonged period through our fault, we will offer a credit or a pro-rata refund for the unexpired part of the term.
  • If we suspend or remove your account for breaching these terms, no refund is due and the rest of the term is forfeited.
  • If you delete your profile, the membership lapses with it and is not refunded.

A refund is a refund of what you paid us. We cannot refund what a payment provider or a bank charges you separately, and we do not compensate for the outcome of a search.

The full Refund & Cancellation Policy sets out how to ask, how long it takes, and how a refund is paid.

12.Uyirmei Select and the concierge service

Select Concierge includes a matchmaker assigned to you. They may contact you by phone, email or in-app message, read your profile and preferences, and put curated introductions in front of you together with the reasoning behind each one.

Accepting a curated introduction simply sends an interest, like any other. The other member is free to decline it.

Your matchmaker may propose a call with you, or a meeting between you, another member and your families. A meeting stays a proposal until every participant has accepted, and changing when, where, how or how long it runs asks everyone again. The address of a meeting is withheld until you accept it. A family meeting can only be proposed between two members who have already accepted each other’s interest.

Matchmakers keep working notes about your search. These are our records rather than yours; they are kept as an append-only history, and staff access to member data is logged.

We may change the matchmaker assigned to you; your service history stays with your account. A matchmaker advises. Every decision about a person, a meeting or a marriage remains yours and your family’s.

13.Safety and privacy tools are never sold

Blocking, reporting, the privacy centre, incognito browsing, exporting your data and deleting your account are available on every tier, including the free one, and always will be. You will never have to pay to get away from someone.

14.Privacy and visibility

How we collect, use, share and keep personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Your profile is shown to signed-in members whose preferences you match. Uyirmei does not sell access to anyone’s phone number or email address, and does not publish them on a profile: conversations happen inside the Platform. What you choose to share with a match beyond that is your decision and your risk.

Profiles are shown on our public pages, and to search engines, only where a member has separately agreed to it. That consent is optional, it is never granted by registering, and you can withdraw it at any time in the privacy centre.

Visiting a profile is recorded, and paid members can see who has viewed theirs. Browse incognito if you would rather your visit was not recorded.

You can export your data and delete your account from the privacy centre, on any tier.

15.Messages we send you

While your account is open we send you service messages — email verification, password recovery, interests and messages you have received, moderation decisions, payment receipts and security notices. These are part of the service and cannot be turned off without closing the account.

Anything promotional — newsletters, offers, nudges — is optional. Manage email and push notification preferences in your settings, or use the unsubscribe link in the message.

We will never ask you for your password, a one-time password, or your card details by email, telephone or message. Anyone who does is not us.

16.Meeting people, and your own judgement

Beyond the checks described above, we do not investigate members. Satisfy yourself about anyone you are considering — independently, and with your family — before you meet, commit, or share anything sensitive.

  • Never send money, or share bank, card or UPI details, however convincing the reason.
  • Meet in a public place first, tell someone where you are going, and arrange your own transport.
  • Verify what you have been told about identity, employment and marital status through your own sources.
  • Report anything that feels wrong to us, and anything criminal to the police.

We are not a party to what passes between members, on the Platform or away from it, and we are not responsible for the conduct of any member.

17.Moderation, suspension and removal

Depending on the seriousness, and with or without notice, we may hide or remove content, restrict features, suspend an account, or delete it permanently. We do this when we find, or reasonably believe:

  • a breach of these terms or our Community Guidelines;
  • false, misleading or unverifiable information on a profile;
  • no genuine intention to marry;
  • a refusal to provide verification we have asked for;
  • duplicate or evasive accounts;
  • fraud, a reversed payment, or an attempt to obtain money from members;
  • conduct that puts another member at risk;
  • that the law, a court or a competent authority requires it.

Serious matters may be reported to law enforcement, and we may disclose information where the law requires it. Enforcement actions are recorded in an audit log. If you believe a decision was wrong, write to our grievance officer — the details are below.

18.Deleting your account, and what we keep

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from the privacy centre. Your profile leaves discovery immediately, and your name, email address and phone number are removed from the account itself.

Deletion cannot be undone. We cannot restore a deleted profile, its photographs, preferences or shortlists, and any membership lapses with it, without refund. Export your data first if you want to keep a copy.

What you sent to other members stays with them. An interest you expressed, a conversation you were part of and the messages you wrote in it are equally the other member’s record of something that happened to them, and deleting your account does not take them out of their inbox. They are no longer joined to a name — the account they point at is an empty one — and nobody can write from it again.

Other records outlive an account, because they are not only about you or because we are required to keep them: reports, moderation and safety records, audit logs of staff access, payment and tax records for as long as the law requires, the record that an identity check happened and how it was decided, and an empty account row that keeps those references intact. Retention periods are in the Privacy Policy.

We may remove a profile that has been dormant for a long period, after telling you first.

19.Our intellectual property

The Uyirmei name, logo, design, text, software and everything else on the Platform other than member content belongs to us or to our licensors. You may use it to use the service, and for nothing else — not to copy, republish, frame, deep-link commercially, or build a competing or derivative product, without our written permission.

20.Third parties

We rely on other companies to run the service — a payment provider, email, SMS and push delivery, hosting and analytics among them. Their handling of your data is covered in the Privacy Policy.

Where the Platform links to a site we do not run, we do not endorse it, we do not check it, and we are not responsible for it. Following such a link is at your own risk, and a payment failure, a delay or a currency conversion at a provider is a matter between you and them.

21.Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep Uyirmei available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Maintenance, upgrades, failures and events outside our control all happen.

We may add, change or withdraw features. Where a change would materially reduce something you have already paid for, the refunds section above applies.

22.Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

In particular, we do not warrant the accuracy, completeness or honesty of anything a member says about themselves; that any member is who they claim to be, is free to marry, or is acting in good faith; or that using Uyirmei will lead to a response, an introduction or a marriage.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

23.Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit or opportunity, or distress arising from another member’s conduct, from anything a member told you, from a meeting or a relationship formed through the Platform, or from a loss you suffer by acting on information you found here.

Our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in this section limits our liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

24.Indemnity

You will indemnify us and our staff against claims, proceedings, losses, damages, fines and reasonable legal costs arising from what you post on the Platform, from your use of it, from your breach of these terms or of the law, and from any dispute between you and another member.

25.Grievance redressal

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, our grievance officer is Varalakshmi K, reachable at grievance@uyirmei.in or by post at M801, Akshaya January Apartments, Thaiyur, Chennai - 603103.

We acknowledge a complaint within twenty-four hours and aim to resolve it within fifteen days of receiving it. Please include your registered email address and enough detail — profile links, dates, screenshots — for us to look into it.

26.Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. When a change is substantive we publish a new version and ask you to accept it the next time you sign in; smaller corrections are made in place. The version in force is shown at the top of this page, and continuing to use Uyirmei after a change means you accept it.

27.Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the grievance procedure above, the courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of the Platform.

If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver of it.

28.Contact us

Write to support@uyirmei.in for anything about your account, a membership or a payment, and to grievance@uyirmei.in for a formal complaint. Our postal address is M801, Akshaya January Apartments, Thaiyur, Chennai - 603103.
